After being in the food industry for about 3 years and moving up to management pretty fast, I realized there wouldn't be much advancement in the near future and I would be standing in the same spot, in the same line, so it was time for a change. In the previous years I had helped a couple childhood friends' family construction companies and enjoyed working with my hands so decided I'd go that route. I filled out numerous applications at local construction companies but did not receive any call backs. Refusing to be deterred, I ended up taking a detour to our Western Iowa Tech Community College here in Sioux City for a year and received a Certificate in Carpentry.

After Graduating from W.I.T. I went to work for a local construction company that did a lot of work for insurance companies(smoke, fire, water, weather damaged homes) and other home renovations. I was with that company for roughly 7 years then joined the Local Carpenters Union to further my education in construction. After being in the Union 3 years I received my Journeyman Certificate and that was roughly 4 years ago. Now with 16+ years in experience in the construction trade and my own family I'm ready to "Chase My Dream and Help Build Yours!!!"
